Dena and John

Dena and John’s engagement session took place on a warm evening at one of Toronto’s most unexpected gems — the RC Harris Water Treatment Plant. If you’ve ever been there, you know the architecture feels like something out of a movie. It’s bold and beautiful, perched right along the lake with golden light pouring in as the sun drops.

As soon as we arrived, I knew the session was going to feel cinematic. The evening light was soft and hazy, and Dena and John just melted into the moment. We wandered along the curved stone walls, played with shadows, and let the space do its thing. They were quiet and connected — no stiff posing, just genuine energy between them.

One of the reasons I love shooting an RC Water Treatment Plant engagement session is that the space feels both dramatic and peaceful. There’s so much structure, but it doesn’t overpower the couple. It frames them. It holds space for them.

Dena and John brought their own rhythm to the evening — slow, calm, and completely in tune with each other. There’s something special about photographing people who don’t feel the need to perform. They were just there, together, letting it unfold.

If you’re considering a location that blends architectural drama with soft, natural light, this RC Water Treatment Plant engagement is full of inspiration. Scroll through the gallery below to see how the light, lines, and love all came together at golden hour.
