Dena and John’s Liberty Grand wedding was a beautiful celebration that brought together tradition, family and an incredible party. With around 200 guests joining them for the day, their wedding felt grand and elegant while still being full of personal moments and so much energy.
The morning began at The Rose Manor in Welland, where Dena got ready surrounded by her closest friends and family. This beautiful historical home was the perfect setting for getting-ready photos. Its character, large windows and abundance of natural light created a soft, timeless backdrop for portraits and candid moments before the ceremony.
Dena and John celebrated their marriage with a traditional Coptic wedding ceremony, incorporating meaningful cultural and religious traditions into their day. The ceremony was rich in symbolism and made for such a beautiful contrast with the high-energy celebration that followed.
From there, everyone made their way to Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex in Toronto for the reception. The venue was especially impressive filled with nearly 200 guests. Its soaring ceilings, grand architecture and expansive reception space created the perfect atmosphere for a wedding of this size.
One of my favourite things about photographing a Liberty Grand wedding is the variety the venue provides. Its classic architecture works beautifully for timeless and editorial wedding portraits, while the scale of the reception rooms makes it an incredible choice for large Toronto weddings.
As the evening continued, the dance floor completely came alive. The energy was electric, with a packed floor, nonstop dancing and celebrations carrying late into the night. These are always some of my favourite moments to photograph—the movement, flash, laughter and candid interactions happening everywhere at once. It’s exactly what I love about documentary wedding photography in Toronto: capturing the energy of the night as it naturally unfolds, without interrupting it.
Dena and John’s Liberty Grand wedding was the perfect combination of Coptic tradition, timeless elegance and an unforgettable Toronto celebration.
